Social Green Book Series

One of the major ways Social Green promotes education about the social side of sustainability is through our Social Green Book Series.  These books provide in-depth explorations of social sustainability including insights into how to acheive it. From the ways communities can build-in mechanisms to promote sustainability in everyday life to the ways green hospitals promote health and well-being, our books couple extraordinary stories with pragmatic, sociological solutions.

Living Green: Communities that Sustain
Living Green showcases innovative green communities, the people who live in them, and the lessons learned from them. Through stories of extraordinary communities across North America, Living Green examines the relationship between people and built communities and showcases the social side of living green. The stories in this book take to Dockside, a planned green community in Victoria, two co-housing communities in Washington D.C., an eco-village in Los Angeles and other communities across Canada and the U.S.

Richard Fedrizzi, President, CEO and Founding Chairman, U.S. Green Building Council says about Living Green, “Most of us are in intellectual agreement about the importance of sustainability, but it is in these richly detailed stories that we can find the inspiration to act, and it’s not a moment too soon.” To find out more about the book, click here.
